PERIDOT PENDANT

The peridot in this pendant is an emerald cut. Stonecutters initially created this shape for emerald stones as far back as the 1500s as it reduced the pressure during the cutting process and therefore prevented chips in the stones. The actual term “emerald cut” was not used until the 1920s when the clean lines and symmetry of art deco inspired the emerald cut trend.
